We're off and running folks.

Patience was definitely needed, never easy paying against a back 10. Would have liked to have seen more chances created for our dominance of the ball but early days and all that.

I thought Walker and De Bruyne were particularly good and either would have deserved the MoTM. Looking forward to seeing Mendy on the left side and an additional CB is a must.

Good start.

Obviously a win is a win, great start.
Disappointing that Pep didn't get more adventurous sooner, Sane for Danillo should have happened at half time.
Overall away from home I would prefer to play more solidly at the back with fast wingers & one striker.
However in this case, a back three was excessive

The 1st half was as full as , 2nd not much better but it really was just a matter of time before they collapsed. I know it is not results against teams like us that will keep them up so why not give it a go , why sit there awaiting the inevitable.

Great result, tricky this one.. I'm with slim phil , much prefer to see a solid back line .. not convinced it would work against better opposition, but that's not saying pep wouldn't play 4 next time:.disappointed how slow our build up was at times, but it takes 2 to make a game of footy & Brighton weren't interested.. the first of many games like this I feel.. 3 away pts & were up & running

Our build up play was a bit slow at times but Brighton were terrible. With 10 minutes left and 2-0 down they were happy to let us play keep ball in our own half. What was the point of that?

There are plenty of teams like Brighton that will play plenty at the back and let's face it against City that's nothing new. A slow build up aint going to help the cause either. Remember Brighton hasn't got a rich owner with bottomless pockets, that can go out and buy any player they want.
And least not forget we were terrible not so many years ago.
It pays to remember where we came from.

We may have been terrible but i cannot remember going into a game with such a negative attitude as Brighton had.

that may be but do you want Brighton to play four up front and three at the back and go all out attack with the squad they have, remembering their squad probably cost less than a couple of pints down the local.
Anyway they weren't that tight at the back even with eight!!
We got through the game, we got three pints, we move on and let Brighton worry about their game and for City to worry about their game, with one of the more expensive sides in world football :skills:
